November Fun

Looking back at some of my old posts I realize how much Aubrey has grown up since her first birthday! She loves cookies (and asks for them by name), eats yogurt and applesauce all by herself (and stays relatively clean), and loves dressing up in mommy's stuff.

Mmmmm.....Mommy makes the best chocolate chip cookies!

I love my yogurt! It's another good alternative to fruit loops for breakfast.

The dogs are not allowed on the couch anymore, but they seem to find there way on there every now and then. Maggie likes to snuggle up on my pillow.

That is the look of, "It wasn't me, mom. It must have been Sadie or Maggie."

We went for a walk down by the river and Aubrey was squinting into the sun so I let her wear my sunglasses. She thought they were the coolest! Too bad they didn't stay on her face to long.

Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween!!! I know this is late, but better late than never right? This year Aubrey was an adorable cow for Halloween. She got a kick out of her pumpkin basket to carry around! We got ready and went over to some friends of ours to trick or treat with them and their little boy. We got there a little early and had some time to play in the backyard before we went out on our candy hunt.

We finally got her costume on and she pranced around the house with her basket while we finished getting everything ready.

Family Picture :)

Unlike WI it doesn't get too cold down here so we have to figure out a costume that isn't too warm instead of finding one to put over a snowsuit. :)

"I go up the slide, right?"

Aubrey and Braddock at their first house! They actually knocked on the door!

"Daddy, I want this kind." Aubrey didn't figure out that she wasn't supposed to just keep taking candy from the bowl. She loved picking out her candy!

Just truckin' down the street with my juice and basket of candy!

Pumpkin Patch

Today seemed like the perfect day to head out to the "local" pumpkin patch. It was only a high of 88 degrees and sunny. A beautiful fall day by Louisiana standards. This particular patch has different barnyard things for the kids to do along with a corn maze. We went with the intention to just ride the tractor out to the pumpkin patch, pick our pumpkins, and head home, but Aubrey had different thoughts.

We started out with the typical waiting in line for our tickets. Ben took Aubrey over by the music speakers to dance for awhile while I waited in line. After we got our tickets we headed over to the scarecrow cut-out for pictures and then off to the corn maze. I'm so glad we brought Aubrey's "leash". It gave her the chance to lead us for once. We just let her lead the way, and eventually we found our way out! Aubrey loved watching the kids do the barn swing, but I think she was still a little too small to do it on her own. We watched people have duck races using tubes cut in half and hand water pumps to push the ducks. She loved that. Before we knew it, it was our turn to ride the tractor ride out to the pumpkins. Once again...she had a blast. After we got our pumpkins it was time to head out and get some lunch. We are all tired from our long morning outside. Ben and Aubrey are napping and I figured I better put the pictures up before I lay down, or it might never get done.

Oh...the corn maze we did was cut out in the shape of the Vex-Con logo from the TV show "Billy the Exterminator". He lives and works right here in Bossier City. Next time you see his show think of us!

Aubrey and Daddy walking back from dancing.

Not a very scary scarecrow...but she's a happy one!

Daddy and Aubrey taking a break in the corn maze.

Now it's Mommy's turn. I keep asking Ben if we are going to be able to find our way out before Aubrey melts down. :) We did.

"Outta my way! I know where I'm going..."

Aubrey loved the tire "horsey" she got to ride while we were waiting for the tractor.

On the tractor ride heading out to the pumpkins. "It's so bright out here!!!"

"Look! Daddy found one of our pumpkins!"

Ready to ride back with our prize pumpkins!

Aubrey's Update

I looked back and realized how much Aubrey has grown since the last time I posted. Here are a few pictures ranging from the 4th of July to two weeks ago.

Tim and Becky came over for the 4th of July and we gave Aubrey her first ear of corn. It was adorable! She ate all the corn off of it.

Aubrey LOVES Great Auntie Kelly's Goulash! It's one meal I know she will eat no matter what.

I asked Aubrey to smile for the camera, but instead she walked up to it and tried to take it away from me. I guess she still smiled though!

The dogs have not been allowed on the furniture since we moved into the new house. It's easier for everyone to not have to fight for a seat on the couch. Apparently they didn't get the memo and thought they could be on the couch when I wasn't around. Boy, were they wrong.

Aubrey still loves swinging! There is a beautiful park just a five minute drive from our house.

We took Aubrey to the local Gators and Friends. They have some other animals there, and Aubrey loved the camel!

Welcome to Louisianna...enough said.

My parents came down to visit. We put my dad to work painting, but he had some down time to share popcorn with Aubrey.

Everyone had fun with Nana and Papa visiting, but it was time for them to go back home.

Aubrey has taken to eating her breakfast in the recliner. She is such a clean eater! This is really nice for mommy when she doesn't feel good in the mornings.

Aubrey is walking and talking. She just cut a few molars and is working on more. My baby girl isn't a baby anymore. She is a toddler!

Here it is.

After moving, again, into the house we bought in South Bossier we have taken our time getting settled. We have had lots of company, and have had a blast seeing some friends we haven't seen in way too long. I've taken to finally decorating a home and not just a house. We have bought a few new things to fit in our new house and we love it. When my parents were here we painted the living room, hallways, and kitchen. Quite a task, but we were up to it.

I always update the blog when Aubrey is napping, but lately (the last 3 months or so) I have been napping right along with her. We found out in July that we are expecting our second baby. I'm due around April 12, bringing our family total up to six (including the dogs of course).

There it is. The last four months in a nutshell. Nothing too exciting to report so I've taken to sleeping and taking care of things on the home-front instead of blogging. Until next time...

Aubrey Update

Ahhhh!!! It has been way too long since my last post. I guess life got the best of me. I have been avoiding putting up pictures of our new house because I want to wait until it is all finished (decorated). I'm taking a little longer than normal to get the artwork up because our huge 20 ft. celiengs are proving to be a little more of a decorating challenge than I'm used to. We also want to make sure we are going to like where we put everything for a long time. This will be the house we have lived in for the longest so far!!!

I couldn't keep y'all waiting on any pictures and videos of Aubrey. She is soooo adorable!!!! (if I do say so myself). Here is a little view through the window to our lives...

Ben informed me that his SRO (Senior Ranking Officer) commented that I have been slacking on my cookie duty, so Aubrey and I whipped up a quick batch for the guys. Like the apron? It's made from one of Ben's old flight suits.

We took a trip down to the Boardwalk and found these Gators outside the Bass Pro Shop. Welcome to Louisiana!

Yep...that's right...she's gunna be the dorky kid in the hat! I promise she'll thank me for it some day!

Aubrey was enjoying playing in the grass so much she decided to give it a little taste.

Aubrey managed to find the toilet paper roll and realized that it is the coolest toy ever!!!!

Aubrey and Daddy were watching Pixar Short Films...I wonder who was enjoying them more?

Apparently daddy liked them more since I couldn't get him to look at me...

Alrighty, here's what y'all have been waiting for...the videos.

We're still working on turning our house into a home and I promise I'll get pictures up soon!

A normal day in the life of...

I must be in a blogging mood...don't take it as a trend! Lately I have only put up posts when something big happens, but yesterday and today were just too fun not to share! Just normal days in our lives, but we finally took the time to catch it on camera.

Sadie and Maggie LOVE to play outside. They run, chase, and tackle each other to the point where we wonder how there aren't any broken bones. Since it is May in LA it is, of course, already hitting 90 degrees out. The tile floor is nice and cool so it doesn't take long for Sadie and Maggie to plop down and cool off after a romp outside. Here's Sadie...

Last night for dinner we decided to grill out since it has been so nice. Ben thought the yard could use some water so he turned the sprinkler on...then we turned Maggie loose...

Sadie is thrilled we turned the water off. Wuss.

Mommy and Aubrey keeping Dad company outside while he grills.

There's always time to play "catch".

Oreos for dessert since she at most of her chicken and mashed potatoes.

This picture is from today. Every time we go in to get Aubrey after a nap or in the morning Maggie is right there. Aubrey sticks her hands through the rails so Maggie can give her kisses. This afternoon after nap time the usual routine set in and her crib erupted in squeals. Naturally, I wondered what she would do if Maggie shared her crib...she loved it. Sadie was a little disappointed, but we didn't think the crib would hold a 21 lb. baby, 56 lb. Boxer, and a 72 lb. Coonhound so sadly Sadie was left out. Fatty...
