Time Flies...

At the request of one of my friends I have added more pics to the blog.  Hope you enjoy!

You can't see it here, but on the butt of this onesie there is a T-38.

After my first bath!

Our family is finally adjusting to its newest member.  Aubrey is growing each day and is spending more and more time awake.  I love being a mom and spending time with her each day.  She is four weeks old now and I think I'm starting to get the hang of things.  Daddy is still working hard and helping out around the house when he can.  I'll try to get more pics up soon!

Four Days Old

We've made it through our first few days home with flying colors.  Aubrey is a wonderful baby.  She still spends most of her days sleeping, but we love it when she opens her eyes and looks around.  Here are a few more pictures of her.  The first one is the day we brought her home in her outfit.  It is a newborn size, but she is drowning in it.

I took these pictures this morning.  She loves laying on the lamb Grandma Kim bought her.

I love the little sleepers she wears to bed.  They are a little big, but with the hand covers and footies she is adorable.

Daddy is heading back to work today so its just Aubrey, Mommy, and Sadie at home.  Hopefully he doesn't miss her too much and can focus on his flying.

Aubrey Mae

After nine long months of waiting our little Aubrey Mae arrived at 2:54 pm on Thursday, April 30.  She weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz and was 19.5 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful in every way.  Ben and I can't figure out yet who she looks like, but we made one pretty baby.  Here are just a few pictures from the last two days.  I promise to post more, but this should tide you guys over for a few days.  Thank y'all for your thoughts and prayers.  Baby and Mommy are doing great and can't wait to go home.

She was just getting cleaned up...

She really likes to snuggle...

Aubrey has had her Bunny-Bear by her side the whole time...

Looking up at daddy and melting his heart already...

Still Waiting...

It's another beautiful day in Mississippi.  All the storms of the south have been north of us for the most part.  We get the warm sunny days instead.  Ben and I have been spending a lot of time outside keeping up with yard work and the flowers my dad planted for me.  It was getting a little hard for me to bend down and dig in the dirt so my dad helped out when he was here.  They look great and add so much color!  Ben is still working hard, but playing just as hard.  He had his first solo flight in the T-38 last week and is soloing today again.  He described it like driving a car for the first time by yourself, but way cooler.  One of his IPs said, "We give you 10 hours in this jet and then we give you the keys to a super-sonic jet.  Good Luck!"  They have a good time over in the 50th.

As I promised, here is a picture of our new car.  Ben had a hard time giving up the Subaru, but he liked that this car was black too.  After having it for a month and a half we really love it.  Now we just need a little someone to put in the back seat!  (Besides Sadie).

I was just relaxing watching tv and Sadie decided to snuggle.  I think she is going to love the baby.  The other day she laid in the nursery for a few hours on the rug in front of the changing table.  Even with all the toys in there for her to get in trouble with she just laid there.  She is already learning how to be gentle.  I can't wait to see her when we bring the baby home!

Below are a few pictures of the nursery we got set up.  My parents and Jonah came down to visit for his spring break and helped us get everything ready.  Dad and Ben put all the furniture together while my mom and I sorted through all the clothes, gifts, and things.  We had a good time, but now Ben and I are getting antsy for a baby to occupy the space.  Hopefully she'll be here any day now!

Changing Table and Bookshelf

Crib

Dresser, Hamper, and Bookshelf again

As you can see there isn't much left to do in the nursery so I am working on keeping up with the other general housework so there isn't a lot to do when we come home from the hospital.  Today is cookie day.  I'm planning on getting a few dozen cookies baked for Ben's flight room.  Most of the guys are single and don't get a lot of extra goodies.  If nothing else it will keep me busy for awhile until Ben gets home and we go for our walk.  Hope y'all have a good week and we'll keep you updated on the BabyWatch.

Whew......

It has been quite some time since I've updated, but I thought I would at least send out a quick note just in case it is awhile before I can add pictures.  Ben is in full swing with the T-38 now.  He is scheduled to have his first flight on Thursday, but with the weather who knows.  I'm still doing well.  Trying to stay busy around the house and such since I'm not working anymore.  I find that there are always things to do.

We had to say goodbye to our Subaru a few weeks ago.  After much deliberation we decided it was just too small for our growing family.  The stroller took up the whole trunk and was a pain to get in there.  The carseat took up most of the space in the back leaving little leg room for mom and little seat room for Sadie.  We got a great deal on a 2008 Chevy Equinox.  I'll put up a picture when I get a chance.  It is black just like our Subaru was so Ben felt a little bit better about it.  I guess you have to grow up sometime and get the "family" car.  I think it will fit us perfectly.  It has a ton of space and fits not only the stroller in the back, but two full size suitcases!

For the most part things have been pretty routine around here.  Hope y'all are doing well.  I'll update again soon.

New Neighbors

Ben and I were very excited to find out that we were going to get new neighbors!  There was talk about not moving anyone into the other side of our duplex since they are going to be demoing the houses, but it was delayed enough they decided to use them.  Ashley and Dave moved in this past week and brought their Great Dane, Hershey, along.  Sadie has found a new best friend and Ben and I are hoping she will learn a thing or two from this gentle giant...

Track Select

Yesterday was a very busy day...Ben had his Track Select and there was a Red Carpet Day for families.  We started out with breakfast and then the class kind of did a run-through of one of their typical mornings.  After lunch we had the chance to go out to the RSU building and see where the guys keep track of the planes in the pattern.  The T-6 has their own "tower" they communicate with on their own runway.  It makes things less complicated with the tower so the Instructors and Students run this in the RSU.  After that we went over and saw the T-6, T-1, and T-38 planes sitting out.  We were able to look in them and take pictures around them.  This one is of Ben and I on the wing of the T-6.  He is saying his farewells to the Texan.

During the evening ceremony the guys all had to stand in front of everyone and receive their "roast".  Ben accepted his with a smile.

After their roast they put the picture of the jet they will fly next on the big screen behind them.  The look on Ben's face was priceless when he saw he was going to be flying the T-38 Talon.  Now he is on the track to fly fighters and bombers.

This one is a picture taken earlier in the day at the static displays.  Here is his new jet!

Overall the day was great.  It was long and stressful waiting for the evening, but when his drop came though it was all worth it.  We were really excited he got the jet he wanted after working so hard for it for the last 6 months.  Congrats Ben!!
