Track Select

Yesterday was a very busy day...Ben had his Track Select and there was a Red Carpet Day for families.  We started out with breakfast and then the class kind of did a run-through of one of their typical mornings.  After lunch we had the chance to go out to the RSU building and see where the guys keep track of the planes in the pattern.  The T-6 has their own "tower" they communicate with on their own runway.  It makes things less complicated with the tower so the Instructors and Students run this in the RSU.  After that we went over and saw the T-6, T-1, and T-38 planes sitting out.  We were able to look in them and take pictures around them.  This one is of Ben and I on the wing of the T-6.  He is saying his farewells to the Texan.

During the evening ceremony the guys all had to stand in front of everyone and receive their "roast".  Ben accepted his with a smile.

After their roast they put the picture of the jet they will fly next on the big screen behind them.  The look on Ben's face was priceless when he saw he was going to be flying the T-38 Talon.  Now he is on the track to fly fighters and bombers.

This one is a picture taken earlier in the day at the static displays.  Here is his new jet!

Overall the day was great.  It was long and stressful waiting for the evening, but when his drop came though it was all worth it.  We were really excited he got the jet he wanted after working so hard for it for the last 6 months.  Congrats Ben!!
